Increased Output and Energy Savings: Reduces extruder backpressure, lightening the screw load, resulting in a 15%–30% increase in output and a 15%–25% reduction in energy consumption.
Melt Homogenization: Gear shearing promotes temperature and additive dispersion (e.g., color masterbatches, impact modifiers), enhancing tensile strength and appearance consistency.
Suitable Materials: Widely used for high-temperature, high-viscosity melts such as PET (plastic steel strapping) and PP (plastic packaging strapping), and supports production with recycled material blends.
The typical configuration is “extruder → melt pump → die → stretching and setting,” which is a key component of modern high-quality, high-speed strapping tape production lines. Especially in applications with stringent requirements for dimensional accuracy and consistency, it has evolved from an “optional” feature to a “standard” configuration.
